“Bonesetter” song

Here’s the 3rd song from my collaboration between Roy Harter and Sean Barry of Skinnyman Studios, and it’s easily my favorite so far.

The lyrics were written entirely by Roy.

This song came out of a 20 second demo I sent to Roy and Sean. Roy worked out the lyrics and then he and Sean put the song together and sent it back to me to sing. While they were hard at work, I was laying out in the field under a blanket with a pot of ever-warm tea. The music and lyrics are fantastic and I feel very lucky to be working with such fine young men.

BONESETTER

Half of the day spent wandering the wind
The monks abolish every soldier’s sins.

Bonesetter,
Tie your stone belt around their wings.
Bonesetter,
Bring your plunder back become the King.

All of the salt is crystal on the shore.
The skin of the drums are cracked from all the wars.

Bonesetter,
Tie your stone belt around their wings.
Bonesetter,
Bring your plunder back become the King.

The Percheron leave hoof-marks in the blood.
Their iron-ore left rusted in the mud.

Bonesetter,
Tie your stone belt around their wings.
Bonesetter,
Bring your plunder back become the King.
