“The Fingerprints of the Fallen Down” song

It’s been deeply rewarding to collaborate on this new series of songs with Roy Harter of Skinnyman Studios. As with the others, I sent Roy a demo for “The Fingerprints of the Fallen Down” and he built a song around it, adding verses, writing new lines, creating its shape and movement.

The Fingerprints of the Fallen Down lyrics:
The softened steel girder finally bends.
A backbone of this city till the end.
Like bluebells on mountainsides
Smoke on the sea
The sidewalks and diaries
Won’t set you free
These are the fingerprints of the fallen down
How your shadow turns you upside down.
Gaze at this crooked photo frame
Glass cracked and hung in broken shame.
So come take me home again
We’ll soon regret
The sidewalks and diaries
Dance and forget
These are the fingerprints of the fallen down
How your shadow turns you upside down
What’s all of it, but failure crowned?
Glory am I, I’m starting to see the sky
Glory am I, I’m starting to see the sky
Glory am I, I’m starting to see the sky
Glory am I, I’m starting to see the sky
Glory am I, I’m starting to see the sky
