I’m putting together a one man show called “Whisper, Pray, Make Room” at my sister-in-law’s Yoga Studio – The Practice Room and I need some help.  If you’re interested in theater or voice acting or just like helping – read on.

“Whisper, Pray, Make Room” is a reinterpretation of Dickens “Christmas Carol” – with music and done in a Talk Radio Show setting.  If you’ve seen Eric Bogosian’s “Talk Radio” and can somehow picture Scrooge behind the mic as an extremist talk radio host, you’ll start to see what this is all about.

To create a believable Talk Radio kind of atmosphere – with drops, ads, etc, I need to have some real callers.  The callers won’t be live, but prerecorded.   I’ll manipulate those parts via a Soundboard program on a computer during the show.

I already have the Callers of Christmas Past and Future.  Fans of Ron & Fez will be familiar with Blowhard and Dr. Steve.  Blowhard is playing the Ghost Caller of Xmas Past and Dr. Steve the Ghost of Xmas Yet to Come.

So what I need:

1.  A female voice for the Ghost of Xmas Present

2.  A variety of general callers.

If you’re interested in being a general caller, all you need to do is leave a voice message at my Google Voice Account at (603) 722-0540.  There’s really only 3 things here.  First – no cursing!  Ha ha.  Family show.  Sorry.  Second – try to pretend like someone has just said “You’re next on the Steve King Show”.  Third – either Hate Steve…or love him.  If you hate him, feel free to rattle off why he’s the darkest, most awful, most dangerous talk show host in the land.  If you love him, feel free to say why.  There’s no pressure here.  If you don’t like what you did, you can just erase it.

Basically, I’ll take those recorded voicemails and play them during the show as though they are live calls.  And what do you get for all your voice work?  A slice of Christmas Goose. Also you will get credit in the Playbill/cast list and on this site. 🙂
