Lost & Found song

There’s an open-mic night at my sis-in-law’s place, The Practice Room, and I’ll be setting up the piana and playing a few songs. If you live in NH and want to come and play or just watch, please do!  If you need directions write me at sleeves@radioghost.com. 🙂

Last night I was just messing around and came up with this song. Because I’m rehearsing for the “Whisper, Pray, Make Room” show, my keyboard is set up in the kitchen and the recording is just sort of demo. So you can hear drippy sink water and our heater…and maybe a TV in the background. I’m hoping to play this tonight…

“Lost & Found” Lyrics:

Guess I’ll go lay down in the clouds
My sister’s gone to lay out in the fields
We always lay out on the ground, looking!
for the lost and found that we lost and found

I tied down the earth
But the dog never tires
Shut down all the stores
But these folks won’t retire
So we all go lay out on the ground, looking!
for the lost and found that we lost and found

I rattle the birds
so the sky stays awake
I fish in the trees
And I sleep in the lake

I don’t have a penny
But I don’t owe a man
I ain’t got no food
I was born eating sand

Guess I’ll go lay down in the clouds
My sister’s gone to lay out in the fields
We always lay out on the ground, looking!
for the lost and found that we lost and found
