It’s interesting and strange that we don’t have a term or name or easy way to talk about the outgoing decade. The aughts, the nils, the oh’s, the zeds were all proposed, but nothing took.
For this piece for NHPR I sort of rolled this odd problem around, trying to get to the bottom of why we stumbled in a place where we usually excel.
