{"id":728,"date":"2010-01-04T07:28:28","date_gmt":"2010-01-04T14:28:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/radioghost.com\/?p=728"},"modified":"2010-01-04T07:31:48","modified_gmt":"2010-01-04T14:31:48","slug":"3-songs-a-3-minute-story","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/radioghost.com\/?p=728","title":{"rendered":"3 songs &#038; a 3 Minute Story"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I was asked to create a 3 minute &#8220;sound drop&#8221; that conjured up the city of Chicago for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thirdcoastfestival.org\/listening_room_LR.asp\">Third Coast<\/a>, in honor of their becoming an independent entity. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/radioghost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/IMG_4143.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/radioghost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/IMG_4143-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"IMG_4143\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-731\" srcset=\"http:\/\/radioghost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/IMG_4143-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/radioghost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/IMG_4143.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>I&#8217;ve been to Chicago a few times (the photo was taken in Millennium Park), but I don&#8217;t know it deeply.  But I thought I&#8217;d pick a well known joint, and then see if there was a rabbit in its hat. I&#8217;d heard of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.greenmilljazz.com\/\">The Green Mill<\/a> jazz club somewhere and it loomed in my imagination like The Cotton Club&#8230;and so for my sound drop I thought I&#8217;d see if I could figure out a narrative that got Sherwin up onto the Green Mill stage to do a little number.
